About Jana Reinhardt Jewellery

Jana Reinhardt and her husband Ross Cutting are the duo behind Jana Reinhardt Jewellery. Both qualified master goldsmiths, together they have over 50 years of experience, creating exquisite jewellery by hand in their workshop in Worthing, West Sussex. Each of their renowned animal designs is sketched then painstakingly carved out of wax by Jana, before being cast in gold, silver or platinum. ‘Wax is an amazing medium for creating almost anything that would be difficult to construct from sheet or wire,’ reveals Jana. ‘But it is delicate, so it takes patience and a lot of skill.’

As well as maintaining the heritage and craftsmanship of handmade pieces, sustainability and respect for the world’s natural resources are at the heart of Jana Reinhardt Jewellery. ‘We’re always trying to make our business greener,’ says Jana. ‘All our pieces are made from recycled gold and silver, due to the environmental and human costs often associated with mining precious metals. We also no longer make gold-plated pieces because the process is detrimental to the environment and because it’s temporary. Plus, all our packaging is plastic-free and we plant a tree via Ecologi with every sale.’

Jana and Ross also use their skills to help charities and causes important to them. They have created an animal charity collection to increase awareness and raise money for organisations making a big difference to animal welfare, including PETA, The Badger Trust and OVAID.

‘We love creating one-of-a-kind pieces, but we love our world too,’ says Jana. ‘And we wanted to find a way to make jewellery that doesn’t come at the expense of
the environment.’
