With hand-blown scrolling glass arms, original crystal drops and hand-strung glass beads, the lamp is originally from Italy.
‘This lamp has a very glamorous design and would add a great decorative flair to a bedroom – especially a dressing table – or living room,’ says Tammy Court, co-owner of Belle Epoque. ‘It has been rewired to comply with current British specifications, with braided fabric lighting cable to complement the vintage style. It’s typical of the vintage lighting collection that’s become so popular in our shop – we have a huge range of antique and vintage lighting, including chandeliers, wall lights and lamps, all fully restored and rewired.’
Belle Epoque is a curated collection of everything Tammy and her husband Matt love about interiors – individual pieces which are sourced on their own merit, but which sit together to make a look that works in a contemporary home. ‘You don’t have to completely subscribe to the French look,’ says Tammy. ‘Try mixing an antique candelabra or chandelier in a mid-century scheme – it works!’
Established in East Molesey, Surrey, since 2005, Belle Epoque is a boutique full of lovely items, but if you can’t find what you’re looking for Tammy and Matt source and customise pieces to order. ‘We work with a lot of interior designers and private customers who are looking for something particular – mirrors, lighting or furniture – and we have an in-house workshop where we can pretty much do anything!’ says Tammy. ‘Plus, we have access to one of the largest suppliers of antique and vintage chandeliers in the country.’
They source new stock several times a week and update their website every Friday, so it’s always worth having a look over the weekend, but if you’re after something specific, just get in touch.
